Cajon Pass and Beaumont Hill are very close to one another and both get pretty good amounts of train traffic. Cajon is the only way that the Santa Fe had in and out of Southern California. Union Pacific had trackage rights prior to the SP merger over the Santa Fe to get in and out of the area.
Beaumont Hill was more of a east-west track taking the SP to places like Yuma, Arizona and points east.
West Colton Yard is just west of Beaumont and south of Cajon. West Colton Yard is huge. There's about 100 miles of track within the yard. Approximately 1,600 cars per day pass thru the yard. There's also 48 classification tracks within the yard bowl.
West Colton yard is just a big place.

The Union Pacific is running several trains a day along the coastline between Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Oakland. There is also Amtrak's Coast Starlight as well as Metrolink.
