Note how I wrote "Senior." WLE was acquired in 1947 by NKP, and came back again in 1990 when NS spun about 600 miles of track off in OH and PA. The 1990 WLE is still alive and kicking and has the new reporting marks of "WE", and not "WLE" like the traditional Wheeling.

Conrail is still around tho, as CSAO and there were 2 WLE rr's (one is WLE, the other WE reporting marks)

Conrail is still around tho, as CSAO and there were 2 WLE rr's (one is WLE, the other WE reporting marks) Technically though, Conrail is a mere entity of Norfolk Southern and CSX. On June 1, 1999, NS got 56% of Conrail and CSX got 43%. 1% got left over and is still Conrail, but as I said, keep in mind that it is a mere entity and not an "official" operating railroad. Understand?

Technically, Conrail only exists on paper.
Speaking of Conrail, I've got a fire dept meeting tonight, so I gotta split!

Basically, the "true" Conrail has been dead since the day of June 1st of 1999. CSX and NS ate it up like a apple tree in a desert. It also has been rumored that the left-over one percent is for CSX/NS assets or for others railroads to acquire.

If you are referring to the Blue CN/LMSX units, then yes, CN did get those.
