Seattle, Portland, and Spokane had more ALCos than it had sense. No offense Alex. whats wrong with ALCos? My grandfather (who worked for the NSWGR) liked the 48 class (an Australian ALCo

well, they did use GE equipment, and look pretty much like U Boats (well some do)

Yeah, but it didn'tlook too cool to have 5 or 6 U boats towed back to the shop by an elderly EMD that didn't see the inside of a repair barn except for routine maintenance. The KCS outright refused to purchase ANY U-boats because of the reliability factor.
