Other than the day turned out cold Id say it went very well. I cought many Trains today in the Omaha,Council Bluffs area. This first Trains is a north bound Coal load at north CB where the Double Track ends to Single track. He was smoking good too. So was the rear DPU.

Here is the DPU rolling by one of the oldest Serch lights on the Ex-CNW.

Then I ventured into the bluffs to find this Eastbound going by 2nd avenue.

Then I decided to to loaf around the old Rock Island depot and saw an IAIS switcher doing some switching in the yard. He was to far away to get a shot of him so I gave up. Then I went over to UP's south yard and shot the MCBPR waiting for a crew to take it east. Very strange number boards on the UP9025.

Then I went over to the Omaha side to get a shot of the UP6900 & the UP 4023 (Big boy). That is one heck of a walk just to get to them. But it was worth it.

Just as I was shooting these two monsters a westbound BNSF hopper was going up the hill. So I was running as fast as I can go all the way from this location all the way to 48th street and shot this BNSF.

It even had a DPU shoving.

Then I went back east to Gibson yard and waited around to see what these guys would do. I got very lucky. I still love these old Santa Fe GP30's.

After getting shot of the BNSF2179 I looked back to find the UP is getting ready to shove it's empty OMAX hoppers back up the hill. I went down to the Amtrak depot to find another westbound BNSF hopper coming my way.

Even had a DPU with all that power on the point.

The funny thing is. Just as the DPU on the hopper cleared the west side of the Amtrak platform. Here come the UP. Perfect timing.

Overall I say it was a very good cold day to Railfan to say the least. I had fun. Happy Railfanning. Allan.
