My silliest purchase ever,.......well, some would probably say it was my first train, because it got me started on all of this.
But to be honest, I actually paid real money for the HO scale DeWitt Clinton set. I model N scale! I don't know what came over me!
So, does anyone want to buy a mint condition DeWitt Clinton set? It's HO scale!
What was yours?

A Union Pacific hudson from IHC, only later did I learn UP never had any hudsons! That still has me mad.

That is a hell of a good reason as to why I NEVER buy anything that is even affiliated with IHC.

I heard about one guy who actually paid for the Atlas RTS program when it first came out. That would stink.

Lionel makes alot of fake things like a CSX SD90MAC, a BNSF SD80MAC, a NS SD70ACe, BNSF H2 SD70ACe, and a whole host more, and usually the number is wrong. MTH can have it's bad days too. But this is another reason I model HO scale.

How about an 1860's wood burner and several mid 1940's steamers, when what I model is primarily 1960's upward to the present.

You know the funny thing is. My Athearn BNSF5612 has the 'New Image' on it. But the REAL BNSF5612 still doesen't. Now what's wrong with this picture? Hmm. Makes me wounder. Isn't that logo infringment? Allan.

Think of it like this. They did it anticipating the repaint of the original. Of course with BNSF by the time they get around to repainting that loco they will have a new scheme.
