Well if you go by number of rolling stock of one kind I own, it would be MTH. I like all three listed plus Williams. I really like the Proto 2 audio in MTH. You have to buy the big $$$$ Lionel stuff to get the Railsounds 5.0. Otherwise, you get cheap Railsounds or Trainsounds.

Unfortunately all my Lionels have been regulated to shelf duty here recently.

This looks like a good topic to pay attention to. I'm planning an On30 sectional layout and need to know where to get all the stuff I need for it. Do any of the above mentioned companies deal with On30 rolling stock and locos? How are they for structures and rail?

K-line All the way!. They had the best detail at a lower cost, and their workers were very kind. Dont like the Kline by Lionel junk though, high prices and old tooling.

..and of course there is Atlas. We bought a new Industrial Rail Car that has a wod load on it from Deer Lodge, Montana. We visited there in 2006 (November) after I came back from Afghanistan. Saw a large wood processing operation there.
