Hi everyone, The title to this thread says it all. There was no fancy computer manipulations used in the making of this shot, just good old fashion photography. The camera used is a digital but no fancy settings were employed. The only thing that I used the co,puter for was to crop the picture. So please enjoy Cheers, Simon

I just love these new digital cameras. I do the same thing on my N scale layout with the same excellent results. Nice work you have there.

I just want to point out that digital camera's of the non SLR variety are good for this kind of thing because they have very small F-stops. So you get depth without needing an extra long exposure.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've played around a bit with the pic and done what is known as color balancing, or white balancing compare it with the original pic and you will se the differences Cheers, Simon

Yeah, it brings out the green of the truck a lot better! James: SLRs are good for that too! In fact, even better! Heck, I think my last cam only went to f/8!

You're 100% right Eric. I now have a different diorama on display there. The Hillside Lumber & Mill works. Cheers, Simon

Actually I think the picture was better before the white balancing. I say that only because the original picture is tinged to look like it was taken around dusk. I think it gives it a nice mood.
A couple of those Lumber buildings look mighty familiar. Is there a Walther's kit in there? Nice job on the weathering too.

I'd disagree, as the light is too high for dusk.
