I was expecting something closer to 2000 square feet! Nice guns, though...

Hey, thats not a bad little layout! Scenery is pretty well done!
I'm curious as to why you didn't make the layout cover more of the usable space? Were you just using the track on hand?
Seriously though, it looks good. The scenery fits the roadname choice well too.
I noticed two different road colors. Are they just different colors, or are they different materials. If it's the latter, what ways did you use and which do you like better?

Well I just run whatever I can find on my layout. Phil, originally it was just a Life Like set on clearance that I had bought at the local Hobby Lobby for $40, so yes I only used track on hand. The black is "new(er)" asphalt road. (The county got generous) I used black electrical tape for the new asphalt. For the other road, that was just regular duct tape. I use it to simulate older asphalt. Both are good, but I like the duct tape better becuase I can run a road with one strip that sticks perfectly even on top of loose scenery materials. The black electrical tape has to be ran along with two or three strips placed side by side with out too much overlapping. On top of that the adhesion surface has to be PERFECTLY clean with absolutely no errant dust or loose scenery materials.
So what do you guys think.....worth the wait or not? LOL

You did good there Eric. A layout doesn't have to be gigantic to be enjoyable.

You think N scale is small? Try Z scale! Believe it or not, there are several scales that are smaller than Z.
