I think I read it here about using white glue and water in a spray bottle to hold landscape material in place. I had some all purpose sand for a project I was doing and got thinking why not try it on my layout. I use a brush to paint the glue on the Ez-track and then sprinkled the sand on. After it dried I spread the sand around the layout. When I got it the way I liked I sprayed it with the water and glue mix. Once it's dry you can clean up with water and a cloth. The rails have to be cleaned with a damp cloth. It doesn't look bad. Just something to think about

I used to do that before I started using ballast for the track. I hope you ran a magnet over the sand before putting it down. I failed to do that once and ended up with some errant bits of metal getting into the motors of some of my locos. Fortunately they were Athearn's and were easy to disassemble and clean.

I checked and have not found any problem. Thank you for telling me about that, I did not think about that happening.
