Fostoria once handled about 300 trains a day, but the amount lowered in recent times.

Here in Iowa, no snow yet, tho I can't wait to get some good pics of the Iowa Northern in the snow. Then again, no snow is nice because my truck is only 2WD.
Anyway, my favorite 'hotspot' is just East of Fairbank, Iowa. Every day IANR spends several hours switching the ethanol plant here, and then sometimes runs 5 more miles to Oelwein (last town on this 'branch line') to pick up more cars from Transco (freight car rebuilder than uses the old CGW yard)

You'd love my truck Evan. It is a 1995 Ford F-350 Crew Cab diesel with 4x4 and a 4" lift. It is a b**** to start in the winter, but I just love the "rattle" of a Powerstroke diesel engine.
