Well yall might wanna watch out. I heard on trainboard.com that the FBI is keeping a good eye on railfanning websites(MAYBE THIS ONE) So yall might wanna keep it clean and no tipping for the terrorist They're simply barking up the wrong tree! Terrorists are high tech! 9/11 should have taught them that! Terrorists aren't interested in a couple of old farts like me and a few teenagers sitting around shooting the breeze about the coolest paint job or the AC MAC whatever. It's not even important that we know the busiest areas of a RR. Thats common knowledge to anyone who wants to find out. Our chatter about that, or I doubt anything else, isn't going to be anything new to a truely high tech, plugged in, gung ho terrorist. Our boys need to concentrate on the terrorists, not the guys who love the trains. The guys who love the trains wouldn't think of doing harm to one. I know that I don't want the trains to stop running past my house. I like the sound of the loco's. It puts me right to sleep! Ive never got in trouble when im railfanning. But almost everyone has seen me and my dad around the yard. We are there every weekend so im always getting waves from crews. And alot of them like goofing around with me. Like the other day a train was stopped near hiawatha ave. and i got at to take a picture of it(IT WAS A UP) And the guy put on his bright lights. Well i thought he was leaving so i jumped in the car so we can find another cool spot to take a PIC of it. Well he turned them back down to dim. So i waited in the car for him to leave. Well about 5 min later he started to go and he was laughing and waved at me. So i found out all he was doing was joking around with me.

Since I've already been arrested for suspician of terrorism (because I was railfanning), I guess that only leaves one option, huh? Dude you got arrested for that? Man whats this world coming to? I hope i die before they make it illegal to railfan I was arrested, my pictures erased, was handcuffed to an hour and 45 minutes, interrogated, and placed under investigation for suspician of terrorism by the Department of Homeland Security........all for taking pictures of trains in a yard while standing on PUBLIC property. A week later the case was dropped and the investigation closed due to "insufficiant evidence". In other words, I wasn't a terrorist after all and they couldn't back out of that MAJOR mishap fast enough. I'll tell you though, for a while there on the side of the road, surrounded by police cars and Homeland Security officers, I wasn't sure where I might be spending my "twilight years", if I ever got to see them!

I haven't had that happen to me but the railroad yard crews see me and my dad at the railyard at least 4 to 5 times a week so they know us and I have been going there for 6 or 7 years and all the crews give waves to me and my dad. Heck even been on a few trains working down there.

BTW, I used to railfan a lot, but that left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, so I don't go much any more.

THAT FREAKING STUFF IS ILLEGAL TO THE U.S. GOV AND REGULAR CITY COPS!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT!! YOU CAN SUE THEM FOR THAT!!!!! I HAVE SEEN THAT RULES TO RAILFANS IN TRAINS MAG. SO GO THERE AND READ SOME ISSUES AND ITS IN THERE. Tomorrow if I have time I will find it and write down all rules that railfans have about taking pictures of trains. PLUS TAKING YOUR CAMERA AND DELETING PICTURES IS NOT ONLY ILLEGAL ITS ALSO HARASSMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I don't go to their side of town and they don't come to mine. Everyone's cool! Posting some rules would be cool though.
