I am more of a builder. I love the construction aspect of hobby alot more than the operational one.

Eric, I must disagree with you and go along with nscaler. I like operation as much as I like building, in other words, I'm a middle of the road type of guy in that respect. So I cannot vote, as there is no category for me to vote for. Sorry!!!
Cheers, Simon

I meant there aint a 50/50 in the pole. Yeah there are modellers that enjoy both equally.

I'm a builder also, although my pleasure is in the buildings and setting. I must also disagree with you Eric. Some of us do fit into a 50/50 mold. I'm 50% lazy and 50% slothful. LOL

I am about 50/50, but I like building a little more. In addition to weathering and superdeatiling, kitbashing, scrathbuilding, and all the fun stuff!

People that view the layouts can't comprehend what goes into our buildings and scenery. They look at a building, and to them, it's just some walls and a roof. To us it has a history and a purpose, plus there are many hours of work and research involved. Our scenery has the same attributes, and even the simple placement of a tree has to be tweeked to perfection for an overal continuity. The work that goes into creating our little worlds is what sets the tone for the operating sessions. I find such a difference in the dioramas that I do for the museums, and the peaceful feeling that I get from just walking into the model room, and looking at my small world. It's a world that I created to my own specifications, and if I don't want to do anymore than just look at it I can. If I want to run trains I can do that also.
