The Paducah rebuilds were sure neat units. The GP11 has a GP9 long hood, GP9 internals (but upgraded with Dash 2 electronics) and chopped short hood, but the cab looks like the cab of a newer Geep, such as a 38. Plus the Geep 10/11s have those Air filter housings sticking out of the side (just in front of the DB housing)

they look odd (not bad, just different) whats so odd about them? The GP10 and 11 are basically just upgraded GP9s, cept the 11 has a newer cab.

So they are basically low-nose GP9s?

Eric, the GP10 is basically a rebuilt and chop-nosed GP9, with a few minor modifications, such as the air filter housing. The GP11 is basically a Chop-nosed GP9 rebuilt with EMD's "Dash 2" electronics (like in the GP38-2, Sd40-2, ect) and a newer style cab.

So it is a low nose GP 9.

Basically. It was built form a GP9 and it does still retain the 567 engine.

Some of them were rebuilt from High Nose GP9's.
