uh, new to the site. BN Rules. I love the mac's. they have been phasing out in the valley (valley sub). GE's and ACe's have took over. this week the mac's started to pop up again just about every train has had two mac's in them.
Anyway the BN is cool. got a sw1200, bn 188, working in the sugar factory. Late 2006 the factory had it all tore up. engine troubles I guess. Now there is a ex conrail b30-7. prsx 1975. it is shiny black.
oh yaa there are two cabooses in teh west end of town they are 12547, and 12598 one was ex FWD 183 and the other I dont remember right now. they were rebuilt in the early 90's all green even the roof. have cool western fruit express stickers on the bottom corners.
also there was the 2155 in BN paint for a long time in gosh i'm thinking 2003 it was "totaled" it was switching in the yard and the end was on the main and the engineer didn't realize it. anyway there was the power of the coal train which ended in the ditch beside the track didn't recieve much damage, the 2155 was thrown to the side of the track and was partialy burried, the cab was crushed and it was scrapped in town.

not quite but it happened on valentines day 2003 I believe. a the conductor was killed, he was a friend of my dad's. he bailed because he thought evidently that he would perish when the lead unit hit the local unit and he landed on the ground and then he was buried in coal and twisted cars. a few feet from him the units did hit the switcher and went off the rail with only damage to the back pilots of the mac's, they were back to back. and went in the ditch beside the main. it was very astounding to see what happened! I got the newspaper around here somewhere. the engineer of the coal train was treated for shock. the crew in the 2155 got out the conductors door or the engineers door one of the two. have to try to find the paper article. anyway now when a train is going through town when the local is in the yard they have to go 25 mph and the local usually stops switching temporary.

That's sad. A reminder that it's still a dangerous business.
